Google’s social network got a few minor updates to its interface today. Cover photos in Google+ are now much larger and profile information is now presented like “cards,” similar to how Google Now looks.

If you visit your Google+ profile page, you’ll be prompted to change your cover photo as the new, larger format crops old cover photos. The cover photos can be displayed at an astronomical 2,120px by 1,192px to fit 16:9 screens perfectly.

Profile information has been completely revamped, grouping like information for contacts, employment/education history, and your “Story.” The redesign looks a lot like Google Now’s cards and makes reading information much easier. Users can still easily edit this information and view profiles as the pubic to make sure security settings are all correct.

Another change is the inclusion of a tab for users’ Local reviews. This seems to be a strategic move to take away some market share from Yelp. If reviews are highlighted on your profile, it gives them more reach and will incentivize users to write more reviews. Of course, these reviews can be hidden if you don’t want them shown.

This is a gradual roll out so be patient if you don’t see the updated profile page yet.
